I have always known that everything is relative. I know how to deal with my enemies by looking at how a leopardess treats its pregnant prey (like in the story of Legadema, the daughter of Tortilis and Burnt Ebony, the huntress from the sky). I have always tried to decode the mysteries of the world by looking at how plants and animals behave. For instance, I was in a bus few months ago going to an institution to take an exam, when I peeked at the scene, I saw trees standing firmly on their roots even though there were neither leaves nor flowers on them. Then I asked the question, are those trees dead? This gave me a great insight into the nature of humans and existence as a whole. Then I wrote in my book, “The leaves and flowers are the brightest parts of a tree yet their absence does not mean the trees are dead.” “You may not find the characters you want in people, but it does not mean they are dead at heart.”
Another instance was when I was 17, I stood at the door looking into the sky, maybe I was trying to find a sky wing elf, I can’t remember, but that day was the day I realized what the great minds meant by saying it is all about perspective. Because if you look at a cloud, you could see a guitar, and if another person who has never seen a guitar looks, he or she will never perceive the cloud as a guitar but as something entirely different, this is the power of perspective and how personal experience shapes your reality. Let me go straight to my earliest observation, you can read the whole article here (it will take about 30 sec to read but you’ll love it). Today I went down to the invisible and observe the visible message springing out, it’s about a process known as photosynthesis. It is the process by which green plants manufacture their food (photo means light; synthesis means to produce or create). It is not only clear that light is necessary for this process of photosynthesis to take place, it is also surprisingly a factor that affects the rate of the process. There is an increase in the rate of photosynthesis with an increase in the intensity of light. It is however surprising to know that when the intensity of light surpasses a particular point, the rate of photosynthesis decline.
This association between the process and light intensity, more than anything, has a trace of existing in our lives as humans, even though we do not dance when the sky grumbles, I mean even though we are not plants. The intrinsic nature of our prosperity or success lies in the code embedded in this mentioned association.
For instance, our over-anxiety to give a speech will ruin the presentation at the end, and on the other side, the lack of anxiety to do something we truly deserve, often gives us the feeling we do not deserve it. Or sometimes we could see the disaster that occurs when we are too glad to meet a friend, or when we desperately want something only to realize, at the end that our feelings are exaggerated and we do not need it at all. We have all seen the effect of high light intensity in our lives, in our prosperity, but we fail to pay attention to it. Look at the process of handling or raising a child, there are moments when you must be hard on him/her, but if you take it too far the child becomes the exact opposite of what you are trying to make him or her.
Great people like Einstein and Nikola Tesla believed that loneliness is the mother of invention and when you steadily increase the time you spend with yourself, you will get to realize more of the hidden treasures that lies within the path you follow, or for some of us, we will get to know more about the nature of existence as we would be a total observer. But man is a social animal and as the great psychologist, Abraham Maslow, explained in his theory, THE HIERARCHY OF NEEDS, the human body cannot function optimally in the absence of certain things, part of which he called, “love and belongingness needs”. This implies loneliness, when taken too far will decrease our mental power. There are some iconic individuals that have however broken this law as a result of the observation that when a great bond is created between the actor and the act, the effect of love and belongingness needs can be neutralized.
We have also seen the effect of intensity-photosynthesis association in history, as in the Chinese Cultural Revolution which ended up in a complete disaster as a result of the immense desperation of the students of Yizhen Middle School (YMS) to conform to the group spirit. And at the end of the disaster, Gao Jianhua’s father, a victim of the Cultural Revolution himself kept telling his son, “A thing turns into its opposite if pushed too far.” This is however a cliché even though we have still not figure out how to stop ourselves from falling into its trap. And surprisingly, it is also not a new information that all we require is to maintain a balance in our actions and our feelings. All we need is to control ourselves and prevent pushing things to the extreme. Even our fears can be pushed too far, and whenever the action is done or the math we thought we couldn’t understand is known, we realize our fear has been exaggerated all this while. This is how funny it is.
But now our greatest problem is answering the question, how do I attain balance, the highest form of attainment? Because without balance, you will have no idea of when the wealth you’ve amassed is enough. You will be totally oblivious to the harm and inconvenience your orders are giving your employees. Balance is the one thing that is needed in every solution we employ in our lives. We can prove this by looking into how the great Milton H. Erikson got his wisdom and in the life of Sir Ernest Henry Shackleton and how he got his rationality. We all know everything we need, the only problem is how to get it and getting it should be the only quest that should last forever in us as long as we breathe.
